Einhell BG-CG 7.2 Replacement Battery 7.4V 2200mAh

Description:

Einhell BG-CG 7.2 / GE-CG 7.2 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 7.4V 2200mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the original pack in Einhell BG-CG 7.2 and GE-CG 7.2 cordless grass shears and hedge trimmers. It matches the original voltage rail and connector footprint. Dimensions are 65.53 36.48 18.15mm confirm these against your existing pack before ordering.

• BG-CG 7.2 and GE-CG 7.2 compatibility: Both models run the same 7.4V two-cell Li-ion architecture with an identical battery bay and latch system. The BMS on this pack matches the charge-termination handshake the Einhell charger expects from these shear platforms.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated motor-start inrush loads on a shear platform. The BMS held without nuisance tripping across cold-start and sustained cutting passes. Cell voltage recovery between cuts stayed within the expected Li-ion profile.
• Blade-load cycling tip: On first use, run the shears through light trimming passes for two full cycles before tackling dense or woody stems this lets the BMS calibrate inrush thresholds against the actual motor draw before any heavy cutting load.

BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush in compact shear platforms

Compact cordless shears draw a sharp current spike the instant the blade motor engages. In a small 7.4V two-cell pack, the BMS overcurrent threshold sits close to that inrush peak. A cold pack or a pack with elevated internal resistance can hit the cutoff limit on the very first trigger pull, shutting the tool down before any cutting begins. Keeping the pack at room temperature before use lowers internal resistance and keeps that inrush spike below the trip threshold.

Charger not recognising the pack after storage

If the BG-CG 7.2 charger shows no response or a fault light when a replacement pack is inserted, the cells have likely self-discharged below the charger's acceptance voltage typically under 3.0V per cell. Most Einhell chargers won't begin a charge cycle if the incoming voltage reads below that threshold. Leave the pack on the charger for 1015 minutes without removing it; some units will attempt a low-current wake pulse before switching to full charge. If no response appears after 20 minutes, measure the pack terminals a reading below 5.5V across both cells means the pack needs a recovery charge at 0.1C before the standard charge cycle will initiate.
